"Care Today - Character Tomorrow"
Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County, founded in 2000, represents a serious endeavor by women to serve and be a vital part of the community in rendering charitable services which are beneficial to the general public, with a particular emphasis on children. Junior Auxiliary of Desoto County is a member of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, headquartered in Greenville, Mississippi, which oversees over 100 active chapters in eight states.
Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County currently has 85 active members, 11 associate members, 10 life members and 32 provisional members. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at Baptist Memorial Hospital, DeSoto in Southaven. Our fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30.
Junior Auxiliary of DeSoto County hosts one annual fundraising event, known as Catfish & Khakis, which is held in the fall of each year. Proceeds from this event as well as over 2800 volunteer man-hours are contributed to the DeSoto County community annually through a variety of service projects and events which focus on the children in our community. Past and present organizations which have received our support include: DeSoto County Schools, DHS, DeSoto Youth Court, House of Grace, Palmer Home for Children, and Royal Family Kids Camp.
We are always looking for new ideas and ways that we can help out our community. If you know of a way we can help out, please write to:
